After working in fashion editorial offices and e-commerce companies, Anja Woertge became self-employed in 2017 as a fashion journalist and fashion stylist, in order to be able to devote herself more freely to the topics of the industry that are close to her heart. For almost a year now, she has been freelancing as head of the fashion editorial team at Greenstyle magazine FOGS, where she shows how fashion forward can be green fashion.

For her, sustainability is a holistic topic that is not limited to fashion, but should include all areas of our lives. That is why the studied journalist also writes about travel, sports and health issues again and again. With her blog Mountainista.de she wants to inspire people to activities in the mountains and to a conscious, sustainable approach to nature.

Daria Andronescu has been working as a personal shopper for over ten years, developing multifunctional seasonal capsule wardrobes for her customers worldwide. She uses a specially developed method, the “Wonder Wardrobe”, which she makes accessible to everyone on her homepage and in YouTube tutorials.

Her knowledge including instructions is deepened in (paid) online courses, which help to create individual, multifunctional and well-organized Capsule Wardrobes while protecting the environment. Because part of the concept is the rediscovered appreciation of fashion, which today has degenerated into a disposable commodity. Daria Andronescu advises people to make better and more sustainable decisions when buying clothes and encourages people to wear them longer.

She is on the right track with her approach of a reduced wardrobe. The rediscovered appreciation for clothes and advice on finding one’s own style was awarded by the sustainable online magazine mochni.com. Daria was declared one of seven most powerful women in sustainable fashion.

Miriam van der Ham

Miriam van der Ham lives and works in Berlin. After studying fashion design in Pforzheim, she worked as a designer for the outdoor industry, among others. She also worked with the renowned designer Henrik Vibskov, whose influence is visible in her collections. Most recently, van der Ham worked successfully as a costume designer for film (including NETFLIX original “How to Sell Drugs Online (fast)”).

She is currently devoting herself entirely to her own urban outdoor label mvdham (pronounced: ‘m v d ham’), with which she won the ISPO Brandnew Award 2020. Miriam van der Ham recognized the urban outdoor trend early on and tried to bring nature back into the city with mvdham. She wants to reduce the ecological footprint of outdoor fashion. Instead of relying on synthetic high-tech fabrics, she only uses natural materials for the production of her collection items that fully meet urban outdoor requirements. The fabrics come from European countries (Switzerland, Denmark, etc.) and we work with producers in the immediate vicinity.

Holger Petermann

Holger Petermann

On Instagram, Holger Petermann describes himself as “créateur de valeurs”. He has been dealing with sustainability issues for a long time. He brings them together with style, form and design. So it is only logical that Holger does not lag behind trends, but creates them. He is managing director of the PR and marketing agency “THINK INC” and with “Standard Project” he develops the theme of slow fashion as a collective brand.

The new minimalist label captivates through the absence of color and the reduction to the essential. The products – from T-shirts and bicycles to pencils and stationery –  are simply called “items” and consistently numbered. Less is clearly more here. As an expert in luxury sportswear, fashion and brand building, Holger Petermann is in great demand. As a sensitive actor, he also offers “Environmental Education Programs” and “Trashwalks” at schools, among other things. This is intended to sensitize the younger generation to the preservation and protection of the environment.

Anna Schuster

The young German designer Anna Schuster demonstrates what many designers still want to accomplish: to find new, sustainable ways in design. Anna completed her fashion training at the London College of Fashion and at the Mediadesign Hochschule Munich. She sees working with “post-consumer waste” and “leftover materials” not as a limitation but as a challenge. She was a finalist in the Redress Award 2019 and is co-founder of JOA, a sustainable outwear brand, where old clothes are used as raw material for individual unique pieces.

Conservation of resources and sustainable production processes are high on her agenda. Anna works as a Sustainable Fashion & Design Researcher in various projects with the London College of Fashion and Centre for Sustainable Fashion (UK). Her credo: “The most sustainable practice is one that involves local making, reusing fabrics and clothes that are already made.”

For over ten years Hannes Parth has been developing materials from apple remains at “Frumat”. It took a lot of perseverance and conviction for Hannes not to give up. Currently, apple paper and the so-called Appleskin is offered to an ever growing circle of customers. The first website is currently being tinkered with. New materials are also being tinkered with.

Appleskin is also called apple leather. However, since the material does not come from animals, it may not be officially called apple leather. Frumat has patented its production process and grants licenses. Great importance is attached to sustainable and fair production processes. In 2018, Hannes Parth received the award in the category “Innovation and Technology” at the “Green Carpet Fashion Awards” at the Scala in Milan.
