Fashion Statements @ Frankfurt Fashion Week

Although on a much smaller scale, the double event of Neonyt Installation and the Frankfurt Stage by Fashion Council Germany became a long-awaited and long-awaited industry meeting. With sustainable looks that finally belong on the international fashion scene and a dinner with good conversations and sustainable fashion vibes.

Expected with XL anticipation but also maximally reduced for the second edition – the Frankfurt Fashion Week could not take place as planned due to the pandemic. The invited fashion crowd of media representatives, content creators, politicians & Co. was all the more enthusiastic about the multi-brand looks of the Neonyt installation and the fashion show by SUSUMU Ai of the Frankfurt Stage by Fashion Council Germany on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Neonyt installation @ Danzig am Platz

The Neonyt installation has transformed the corridor of Atelier Lihotzky at Danzig am Platz in Frankfurt’s Ostend into an international fashion stage. As always, the focus: sustainability.

13 looks curated to the point, 4 sustainability themes (Air, Circularity, Social, Water) and just over 100 invited guests – the Neonyt installation went from being an “emergency solution” caused by the pandemic to a lastingly impressive event and highlight of Frankfurt Fashion Week.

The first Neonyt installation exceeded all expectations.

We are very happy to agree with this statement by Neonyt Show Director Bettina Bär (here in the interview>>>) after the event at the FCG Dinner.

Fashion Vibes in Frankfurt: Thank you @ Neonyt and Fashion Council.

The models – sometimes alone sometimes in pairs – stood motionless in their “shop windows”, which simulated the open doors towards the former Telekom offices. At this fashion performance, the guests moved along the long, runway-like corridor in order to grasp the installation in all its lasting impact. The artistic staging was accompanied by audio and sound recordings with facts and questions about sustainable fashion. Stimulation for all senses. We are excited for the summer issue of Neonyt.

Say hi to (some of) the Brands of Neonyt installation: AA Gold, Agnes Nordenholz, Alexandra Svendsen, Alinaschuerfeld, Antonia Zander, Brachmann, Dawn Denim, Deuter, Dopper, Ecoalf, Embassy of Bricks and Logs, Fade Out Label, Falke, Fassbender, Folkdays, Freitag, Girlfriend Collective, G-Star Raw, Jack Wolfskin x Gmbh, Lanius, Miomartha, Mykita, Natascha von Hirschhausen, Neubau, People Berlin, Pugnat, Pulva Jewelry, Sepideh Ahadi, Spatz Hutdesign, Studio Fantastique, Timberland, Trippen, Vaude und WeDress Collective und diverse High Fashion Vintage Pieces.

SUSUMU debut fashion show x Fashion Council Germany

The fact that the kimono served as a source of inspiration for Alisa Menkhaus’s “Continuous Love” collection could not be overlooked during the approximately 20-minute fashion show.

The show – the prize for winning the Frankfurt Stage tender by the Fashion Council Germany.
♦The location – Danzig am Platz.
The SUSUMU Ai sibling duo Alisa and Keiho – so likeable that hardly a dry eye remained during the subsequent speech.
Every piece – an artistic combination of Japanese tradition and modern zeitgeist.
The production – made to order and made in Berlin.
The label – a tribute to the late grandfather, an attempt to keep historical Japanese craftsmanship in today and lead into tomorrow.

Our common mission is to promote quality and make sustainable work accessible to more people. With a circular approach and a high level of transparency, we want to drive positive change in the fashion and design industry. Alisa Menkhaus

In short: the story, the collection, the makers of SUSUMU Ai – the made-to-order label has shown that sustainable fashion has long belonged on the international runways.
