Why should the sustainable purchase decision start with underwear? Because bikinis, boxers and bras have the most contact with the skin. It’s always surprising how little people think about it. To inspire you to get started with sustainable underwear, we have created an overview (which is constantly growing): the guide for sustainable underwear and lingerie
Coco Malou – ethical lingerie (Ladies only!)
Why Corinna Borucki founded her lingerie brand Coco Malou in 2019? Because her lacked aesthetic, feminine underwear with filigree lace made of fine materials in the sustainable sector. The creative maker, who still blogs about a sustainable lifestyle on @kissenundkarma today (be sure to follow!), has started a crowdfunding campaign and has been designing sexy underwear since then – resource-saving and made from environmentally friendly materials. Delicate lace doesn’t just look great on Coco Malou. The lace underwear from Stuttgart is produced under fair working conditions in Lisbon. For every set sold, a tree is planted together with WeForest. Ladies only. Good to know: The camisole is part of the GREENSTYLE x Fairnica rental capsule “Pauline”. More information about Coco Malou
CORA happywear – super soft made from eucalyptus
Amanda, Giselle and Federica are the names of the timelessly beautiful and perfectly fitting (Brazilian) slips, panties and bodies made of wonderfully soft eucalyptus fiber. Why does CORA founder Elisabeth Tocca count the eucalyptus fiber among her favorite substances? It is silky, antibacterial, hypoallergenic, breathable and quick-drying. In short: perfect for developing a “second skin” from it. Good to know: In addition to lingerie for women (and individual items for men), the South Tyrolean eco pioneer, who has been making a name for herself again and again thanks to her new materials and innovative models, has been producing her collections for women, children and babies in an environmentally friendly and fair manner since 2014 certified suppliers. erlich textil – timeless simple better underwear
When Sarah and Benjamin Sadler founded their underwear label erlich Textil in 2016, they closed a gap in the market in the sustainable underwear segment from one day to the next with relaxed, sophisticated designs. But they certainly did not expect that five years later they would have an XL portfolio of timeless, durable and affordable basics for women, men and kids on offer. Incidentally, the range of the Cologne label is supplemented by equally relaxed homewear for the bathroom, bed and couch and kitchen. For their climate-neutral “better underwear”, erlich textil works with a family-run textile manufacturer in the Swabian Alb, which produces under fair working conditions in the branches in Germany and Romania.
