After the loss of the long-standing Berlin Fashion Week partner (and sponsor) Mercedes-Benz, the city of Berlin, i.e. the Berlin Senate, is a generous sponsor of the largest German fashion event in the capital. Numerous publicly funded funding programs make it possible here, which others (e.g. us Munich activists) can only dream of. New concepts and formats are emerging – with Studio2retail, PLATTE.berlin, Beyond Fashion Berlin, VORN Fashion Hub – in the capital. With a strong partner beside, the Fashion Council Germany.
A look at Berlin Fashion Week:
As already announced by Christine Arp (Chairman of the Fashion Council Germany) at the Berliner Salon in January, there will be a clear focus on German and Berlin designers and designers from the Ukraine. Berlin sees itself here as the gateway to the East. The shows by Bobkova, Litkovska etc. can also be seen accordingly as part of THE NEWEST, the Contemporary Fashion Showcase in the Kronprinzenpalais.
The location(s) of the BFW
Speaking of the Kronprinzenpalais: This time there is no central show location like the e-Werk, Kraftwerk, Stilwerk, Erika-Hess-Eissportstadion etc. used to be. This time everything is decentralized but fairly concentrated in Mitte. Splendid. The long distances in BER always take so much time. And this time everything is even more urgent than usual because of the compression of the Seek/Premium to two days.
Back to the roots!
Also interesting: the return of some “projects” to their roots. The Premium trade fair will once again be in the STATION Berlin. And Der Berliner Salon returns to the stately Kronprinzenpalais Unter den Linden. The contemporary format THE NEWEST, which emerged from the earlier show format of the MBFW, is also presenting its runway shows here for the first time. You can see Bobkova, where we will be, and Odeeh, among others.
And this is what our Berlin Fashion Week program looks like:
All events are by invitation only.
Public events have been marked accordingly.

Fair: Beyond Fashion Berlin // Atelier Gardens (July 11 to 13, 2023)
The new, community-driven B2B trade fair for sustainable fashion is entering its second round. Big plus: For this edition there are shuttles that connect the location to the BFW. And: There is a last-mile service from the S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations Tempelhof and Hermannstrasse. The event around Lena Nocke will take place this time in three halls on a total of 2,000 square meters! As in January, the labels are in Studio 2 and new in the Alte Tischlerei. Good to know: The collections are pre-curated. At each stand you will find the 5Ps of the respective label, which show the respective sustainability criteria of the brand. Wow! Catering for visitors and exhibitors is free on all three days. Any leftover food will be donated to the charity. The new format “Let’s talk about…” starts on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Beyond Fashion SummerLounge. Let’s party!
