Driven by a lack of alternatives, Anna Jakob, Halina Hahn and Susanne Hütter founded the social production facility Atelier Courage in Cologne’s Südstadt in 2023 and have shown since then that sustainable fashion with social impact can be produced in the heart of the Rhine metropolis.

Dass ich immer wieder neue Labels entdecken darf. Unser aktueller Neuzugang? Ist nicht neu. @an.ju_studio gibt es schon seit 2017. Ich kenne die uniquen Lederwaren von Anna (an) und Justine (ju) auch schon seit einiger Zeit. Aber jetzt durfte ich mich intensiv mit der Arbeit der Beiden beschäftigen. Anna Eham und Justine Nessi sind die Macher*innen des Münchner Lederateliers an.ju studio. Und gemeinsam verstehen sich die beiden als generationenübergreifendes Kreativduo, das die (etwas in Vergessenheit geratende) Handwerkskunst des Feintäschnerns in Kombination mit Nachhaltigkeit am Leben halten möchte. “Unsere Mission ist es, ganz besondere Stücke zu kreieren, die es sonst nirgendwo anders gibt.” Gemeinsam entwickeln Anna und Justine minimalistische Taschen und Leder-Accessoires mit unkomplizierten Funktionen und relevanten Details wie das Innenleben, das aus Reststoffen der Haute Couture genauso wie Japanpapier gefertigt sein kann. ***Mental Health in Fashion x ASVOFF Filmfestival ***Mental Health in Fashion x ASVOFF Filmfestival // jetzt einreichen*** In einer Welt, in der glamouröse Fashion Weeks und gehypte Labels im Rampenlicht stehen, ist ein Perspektivwechsel, ein Blick hinter die Kulissen des Modesystems, längst überfällig. Das hat sich Florian Müller als Gründer der @mentalhealthinfashion Kampagne vorgenommen. Und hat dieses wichtige Thema als neue Filmkategorie beim A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival (ASVOFF) etabliert. Einreichungen sind bis zum 30. September 2024 möglich. ASVOFF @asvoff_official führt die neue Kategorie „Mental Health in Fashion“ ein, um das Bewusstsein für psychische Probleme in der Modeindustrie zu schärfen und sie zu entstigmatisieren. Unter der Leitung von Florian Müller wird damit der Einfluss der Branche auf mentale Gesundheit hervorgehoben. Runway Shows und Installationen. Der Redress Design Award. Masterclasses (mit u.a. Robert Wun) und Talks (u.a. mental Health in Fashion). Und - das absolute Highlight - die Show des gerade genannten Gast-Couturiers @robertwun im Palace Museum (mit rauschender Aftershow-Party) im Grand Majestic Sichuan. Die Modemesse Centrestage, die im Rahmen der Hongkong Fashion Week stattgefunden hat, hatte 2024 nochmal mehr zu bieten als im letzten Jahr. Die #hongkongfashionweek wird vom Veranstalter HKTDC (Hongkong Trade Development Council) zurecht als Asia’s Fashion Spotlight bezeichnet. GREENSTYLE ist vor Ort. Auf der Suche nach sustainable Brands. Für den deutschen Markt. Im Hongkong Convention and Exhibition Centre zeigen auf der Ordermesse CentreStage über 200 nationale und internationale Aussteller*innen ihre Kollektionen. Hier finden vom 4. bis 7.9.2024 die Fashion Hong Kong Runway Shows statt. Im vergangenen Jahr habe ich auf der CenterStage von den Veranstaltern viele spannende sustainable Brands gezeigt bekommen und habe bei meinen Rundgängen über die Messe noch viele mehr entdeckt. Das sind sehr interessante Kontakte, die niemals digital zustande kommen würden. Warum das so wichtig ist? Weil es am Ende des Tages darum geht, dass diese Labels Sichtbarkeit in Europa, in meinem Fall in Deutschland, bekommen und dort Fuß fassen können. Dass sie nicht nur online gekauft, sondern von Buyern für ihre Stores und unsere Pop-ups entdeckt werden können. Ich bin gespannt, welche Labels das HKTDC in diesem Jahr für mich ausgewählt hat - die Auswahl auf der Messe und bei den Shows ist groß.
