Ursula Matschy, who has fulfilled her dream of becoming a sustainable fashion label with Lounge Cherie, has been a master tailor for over a quarter of a century. At her Styrian loungewear, yoga fashion and nightwear label, she is the creative head for ideas, cuts and fabrics for the wonderfully cozy collections that you would love to wear 24/7. The founder is supported by her daughter Nina Kramberger, who as a fashion and beauty photographer knows the fashion world like the back of her hand.

The mission of the Austrian mother-daughter duo? To create fair fashion basics from natural and biodegradable materials that leave the smallest possible ecological footprint, but are anything but boring. Tencel Modal is used for most products, as only these materials from Lenzing meet Lounge Cherie’s quality and sustainability requirements. Mission accomplished! Organza ruffles on cuffs and trumpet sleeves, cool cut-outs, sexy spaghetti straps, feminine Carmen necklines, iconic wrap-around look – (comfortable!) basics can be so sophisticated.
Fashion is only sustainable if it is manufactured respectfully in harmony with nature and people.
Speaking of refined: the Lounge Cherie pieces can of course do much more than just look beautiful. For example, the leggings are made with two layers in the crotch and hip area so that nothing shines through even during the most demanding asanas.
Only (perfect for allergy sufferers) TENCEL ™ modal fibers are used
The two minds behind Lounge Cherie prove that they are really serious about sustainability in their constant attempts to further reduce their footprint. They have switched from polyester thread to cotton thread. Accessories such as pull-in elastics, like TENCEL ™ modal fibers, come from Austria. Hang tags, banderoles and flyers are produced exclusively on recycled paper. It is printed by local companies. The current challenge? The feel-good factor always has something to do with elastane (attention: synthetic fibers!). That is why Lounge Cherie is working on being able to offer designs with biodegradable elastane.
TENCEL ™ modal fibers runs like a central idea through the collection: free from polyamide, polyacrylic and polyester. Instead, it is biodegradable, completely compostable, breathable and without allergy potential. The good mood collections are assembled two and a half hours away by car in the north of Croatia. In the production facility, all employees have an ergonomically humane workplace – their rights are respected and they are fairly remunerated.

And the high demands of the two do not end with the production. Carmen, Johanna, Marie and Max (all favorite pieces have first names!) are just waiting to give their wearer wonderfully relaxed moments of wellbeing. It goes without saying that packaging and shipping also correspond to the sustainable concept.
