This year, the central venue for Hongkong Fashion Week is once again the CentreStage in the Hongkong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 200 national and international exhibitors will be showing their collections here. The Fashion Hongkong Runway Shows will take place here from September 4th to 7th, 2024. My selection: see below.
This year, the event will kick off on September 3rd with a top-class designer showcase: London-based Robert Wun is celebrating not only the 10th anniversary of his label of the same name with his show at the Palace Museum, but also his hometown of Hongkong.
ROBERT WUN SHOW // Offsite
Two years after his graduate collection at the London College of Fashion in 2012 was discovered by Joyce Boutique, Robert Wun founded his eponymous label in London. In 2022, Robert won the Grand Prix at the prestigious Paris ANDAM Fashion Awards. In 2023, with the support of Bruno Pavlovsky (Chanel), he showed his first runway show in Paris, becoming the first Hongkong designer to be included in the elite Haute Couture calendar as a guest member of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. In the same year, he was named one of the most influential people in the fashion industry by Vogue Business 100 and Tatler Asia.
You haven’t heard of him yet? But you’ve certainly seen him, because Robert Wun has dressed artists such as Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Adele and has worked with The Royal Ballet, the Hunger Games film series and director Wong Kar Wai. Redress Design Award 2024 // SUSTAINALE FASHION AWARD
For five years, the Hongkong-based NGO Redress, founded by Christian Dean, has been awarding what it claims is the world’s largest award for sustainable fashion design. The aim: to give sustainable design talents a global spotlight and to create a platform for talented fashion designers who want to change the global fashion industry. The fifth edition (2023) was won by young German designer Nils Hauser. Who will win over the jury this year? More information >>>

BUSINESS MATCHING TERMINE // CentreStage
Last year I was shown many exciting sustainable brands on the center stage and discovered many more during my tours of the trade fair. These are very interesting contacts that would never be made digitally. Why is this so important? Because at the end of the day it is about these labels gaining visibility in Europe, in my case Germany. That they can not only be bought online, but discovered by buyers for their stores and our pop-ups. I am excited to see which labels the HKTDC has selected for me this year.

Addressing Mental Health Challenges and Sustainability in the Fashion Industry by Florian Müller (Friday, September 6, 2024, 11 a.m. – 11.30 a.m., HK time)
A few years ago, Florian Müller brought together his expertise in the fashion business and psychotherapy and founded the Mental Health in Fashion campaign. Here he not only draws international attention to the potential risks for people along the textile value chain. Together with other fashion professionals, he will once again bring insights and solution ideas to the stage of the CentreStage fashion fair as part of Hongkong Fashion Week.
