For 25 years<\/strong>, they have gradually brought more transparency into global textile production processes. OEKO-TEX\u00ae, based in Zurich, consists of an association of 18 independent research and testing institutes<\/strong> in the field of textile and leather ecology in Europe and Japan, with contact offices in more than 60 countries<\/strong>. The Swiss offer different standards. The product labels STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX\u00ae<\/strong> and LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX\u00ae<\/strong> stand for textile and leather products tested for harmful substances. The MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX\u00ae<\/strong> label identifies textiles that have been tested for harmful substances and simultaneously manufactured under sustainable conditions.<\/p>\n

The STeP by OEKO-TEX\u00ae<\/strong> certification and the DETOX TO ZERO by OEKO-TEX\u00ae<\/strong> analysis optimize the manufacturing process of ecologically and socially responsible textile and leather production. ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX\u00ae<\/strong> identifies environmentally friendly chemicals, auxiliaries and dyes used in the textile and leather industry. The standards are regularly improved<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The work of the institutes is of great importance to both companies and consumers<\/strong>. Companies can show that they take their environmental and social obligations<\/strong> seriously and thus create trust. For consumers, an OEKO-TEX\u00ae certificate is a guarantee that certain standards have been met.
